Investigative collaboration between the University of West Attica and a top Israeli University

Following the announcement of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, the results of taking action concerning the E&T collaboration among Greece and Israel in 2019 the University of West Attica in association with the “Hebrew University of Jerusalem”, as well as some corporations during the 11/2020-08/2023 period, successfully participates in this highly competitive funding.

It is important to highlight that this Israeli university, which is the second earliest of Israel, is included in the 100 best globally. Moreover, some of its members have been distinguished repeatedly and internationally, such as Professor Albert Einstein, who received the Nobel award.

The scientific director of this funded investigative initiation, which is one of the three that were approved regarding agri-food subjects, is Professor Mr. Ioannis Paraskevopoulos, head of wine, vine and beverage sciences department in the University of West Attica. The main subject of this initiation is the yeast alienation and the identification with regard to the production of high value added wine, in addition to the evaluation of the produced wine’s aromatic potential.

The rector of the University of West Attica, Professor Panagiotis Kaldis, emphasized that the university has been assisting in this demanding attempt and congratulates both the professor Ioannis Paraskevopoulos and his affiliate, Doctor Christos Fois for the final completion of the investigative purpose.
